Appling County Pirates (Baxley, GA) backers went home satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their softball team gain a win over the visiting Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA), 11-1 in a league battle.

The Pirates now possess a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Toombs County for a non-league battle on Monday, October 6. Appling County will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 4-3 league win over Swainsboro (Swainsboro, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 16-6.

With the loss, Pierce County moves to 17-8 on the season. The Bears host Bacon County (Alma, GA) to confront the Raiders in a non-league battle on Monday, October 6. The Raiders come into the battle with a record of 19-3. Bacon County won 12-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA)
