Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ) and the host Apollo Hawks (Glendale, AZ), observed Valley Vista's volleyball team top Apollo by a count of 3-0.
The Monsoon (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Shadow Ridge (Surprise, AZ). The Stallions enter the 6A - West Valley contest with a 17-5 record. In their last contest, Shadow Ridge Higley (Gilbert, AZ), 1-1, in a non-league contest.
Next, the Hawks battle the Tolleson Wolverines (Tolleson, AZ) in a 6A - West Valley battle, on Tuesday, October 14. Apollo will attempt to improve on its 4-9 season record. The Wolverines go into the battle with a 3-11 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Snowflake (Snowflake, AZ).
