The San Gabriel Matadors overcame the host Bell Gardens Lancers volleyball squad by a count of 3-1 in Thursday's league match.

Next up, the Matadors battle the Rosemead Panthers (Rosemead, CA) in a non-league match, on Monday, October 6. San Gabriel will attempt to move on its 20-6 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 4-8 record after their 3-0 league win over South El Monte (South El Monte, CA).

The Lancers (15-9) will now prepare for their bout against Schurr (Montebello, CA). The Spartans come into the Almont bout with a 10-18 record. In their last bout, Schurr defeated Alhambra (Alhambra, CA), 3-0, in a league bout.
