The Jackson Day Mariners prevailed the visiting Carolina International Comets volleyball squad by a final score of 3-0 in Thursday's league game.

Next up, the Mariners confront the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A game, on Tuesday, October 7. Jackson Day will attempt to advance on its 14-5 season record. The Gryphons enter the game with a 13-6 record after their 3-0 league win over Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC).

The Comets (3-13) will now prepare for their game against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy (Huntersville, NC). The Eagles enter the non-league game with a 0-16 record. In their last game, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy was dropped by North Rowan (Spencer, NC), 3-0, in a non-league game.
