The Mathews Blue Devils topped the host King & Queen Central Royal Tigers volleyball squad by a final score of 3-1 in Thursday's league game.

Next up, the Blue Devils face the Middlesex Chargers (Saluda, VA) in a Tidewater game, on Tuesday, October 7. Mathews will attempt to advance on its 7-6 season record. The Chargers go into the game with a 15-2 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA).

The Royal Tigers (2-8) will now prepare for their game against Charles City (Charles City, VA). The Panthers go into the Tidewater outing with a 1-11 record. In their last outing, Charles City was topped by King William (King William, VA), 3-0, in a league game.
