In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Western Panthers.

The Pirates (17-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Lakewood (Lake Odessa, MI). The Vikings enter the non-league challenge with a 14-13 record. In their last challenge, Lakewood was tipped by Lansing Catholic (Lansing, MI), 3-0, in a league challenge.
