Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) fans went home happy Monday as they saw their soccer squad hold off the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers (Bostic, NC), 2-1 in a league outing.

The Panthers (17-1) will now prepare for their outing against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers come into the Western Piedmont 3A/4A test with a 15-5 record. In their last test, Hibriten edged R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC), 6-0, in a league test.

The Cavaliers now sport a 10-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Burke for a Western Piedmont 3A/4A test on Wednesday, October 22. East Rutherford will confront a Cavaliers squad coming off a 6-1 league loss to Chase (Forest City, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 0-15.
