The Lufkin Panthers football squad scored 31 points and limited the visiting Tyler Lions to 14 in the Panthers league win on Friday.

The Panthers now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they host West Mesquite for a 5A-1 Region II District 7 contest on Friday, October 28. Lufkin will encounter a Wranglers squad coming off a 68-7 non-league loss to Lancaster (Lancaster, TX). The Wranglers record now stands at 3-5.

Coming up next, the Lions encounter the Longview Lobos (Longview, TX) in a 5A-1 Region II District 7 contest, on Friday, October 28. Tyler will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Lobos go into the contest with a 8-0 record after their 49-7 league win over McKinney North (McKinney, TX).
