Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Brownfield Cubs (Brownfield, TX) and the host Lamesa Tornadoes (Lamesa, TX), observed Brownfield's volleyball team top Lamesa by a count of 3-1.

The Cubs (8-20) will now prepare for their battle against Compass Academy (Odessa, TX). The Cougars go into the 3A Region I District 3 battle with a 23-10 record. In their last battle, Compass Academy achieved victory over Crane (Crane, TX), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Tornadoes now own a 2-29 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Denver City for a 3A Region I District 3 battle on Saturday, October 25. Lamesa will encounter a Mustangs team coming off a 3-0 league win over Coahoma (Coahoma, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 29-8.
