In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Gwinn Modeltowners volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Iron Mountain Mountaineers.

The Modeltowners (10-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI). The Hematites come into the Mid-Peninsula test with a 19-5 record. In their last test, Ishpeming nudged North Central (Powers, MI), 3-0, in a non-league test.

The Mountaineers now own a 3-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Westwood for a Mid-Peninsula test on Tuesday, October 28. Iron Mountain will face a Patriots squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Houghton (Houghton, MI). The Patriots record now stands at 3-18.
