Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Newport Cubs (Newport, OR) and the visiting Stayton Eagles (Stayton, OR), saw Newport's soccer squad triumph over Stayton by a count of 8-0.

The Cubs (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Cascade (Turner, OR). The Cougars enter the 4A Oregon West battle with a 5-7 record. In their last battle, Cascade was overwhelmed by Philomath (Philomath, OR), 4-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Eagles confront the Sweet Home Huskies (Sweet Home, OR) in a 4A Oregon West battle, on Thursday, October 24. Stayton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Huskies enter the battle with a 0-13 record after their 9-0 league loss to North Marion (Aurora, OR).
