Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the East Duplin Panthers (Beulaville, NC) and the visiting South Lenoir Blue Devils (Deep Run, NC), saw East Duplin's soccer squad hold off South Lenoir by a count of 2-1.

The Panthers (12-5) will now prepare for their battle against Wallace-Rose Hill (Teachey, NC). The Bulldogs enter the East Central 2A battle with a 17-2 record. In their last battle, Wallace-Rose Hill tipped Kinston (Kinston, NC), 1-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Blue Devils confront the North Lenoir Hawks (LaGrange, NC) in a East Central 2A battle, on Monday, October 28. South Lenoir will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Hawks enter the battle with a 7-12 record after their 9-0 league loss to James Kenan (Warsaw, NC).
