In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Mott Corsairs volleyball squad scored a tight 3-2 win over the Pontiac Phoenix.

Next up, the Corsairs face the Walled Lake Northern Knights (Commerce, MI) in a Lakes Valley game, on Saturday, October 25. Mott will attempt to advance on its 1-12 season record. The Knights go into the game with a 17-12 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Haslett (Haslett, MI).

The Phoenix (4-8) will now prepare for their outing against Ferndale (Ferndale, MI). The Eagles come into the Oakland - Blue outing with a 13-2 record. In their last outing, Ferndale edged Oak Park (Oak Park, MI), 3-0, in a league outing.
