In Monday's league battle, the host Hibriten Panthers soccer squad scored a close 3-2 win over the Alexander Central Cougars.
The Panthers (15-3) will now prepare for their battle against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans go into the Northwestern 3A/4A battle with a 11-4 record. In their last battle, South Caldwell nipped Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.
The Cougars (4-9) will now prepare for their battle against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the Northwestern 3A/4A battle with a 5-11 record. In their last battle, Freedom was nudged by Watauga (Boone, NC), 6-1, in a league battle.
