Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC), 9-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars confront the West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) in a Coastal 3A challenge, on Wednesday, October 26. Croatan will attempt to better on its 11-4 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 3-1 league loss to White Oak (Jacksonville, NC).

The Wildcats now have a 4-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dixon for a Coastal 3A challenge on Wednesday, October 26. Richlands will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Swansboro (Swansboro, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-7.
