Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), saw Laney's soccer squad prevail over North Brunswick by a count of 4-0.

The Buccaneers (14-7) will now prepare for their battle against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars enter the Mideastern 3A/4A battle with a 2-15 record. In their last battle, South Brunswick by Hoggard (Wilmington, NC), 9-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Scorpions confront the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A battle, on Monday, October 28. North Brunswick will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 15-6 record after their 3-2 league win over Ashley (Wilmington, NC).
