In Saturday's league challenge, the host Sacred Heart Academy Irish volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Ashley Bears.

The Irish (36-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Merrill (Merrill, MI). The Vandals come into the Mid-State challenge with a 5-17 record. In their last challenge, Merrill lost by St. Charles (St. Charles, MI), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
