The New Hanover Wildcats held off the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle soccer team by a tally of 1-0 in Monday's league game.

Next, the Wildcats face the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A game, on Wednesday, October 30. New Hanover will attempt to advance on its 13-7 season record. The Vikings come into the game with a 17-2 record after their 9-0 league win over West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).

The Screaming Eagle (16-5) will now prepare for their game against North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Scorpions come into the Mideastern 3A/4A game with a 7-12 record. In their last game, North Brunswick was nipped by Topsail (Hampstead, NC), 4-0, in a league game.
