Fans at Monday's league battle between the Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) and the host Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats (Cashiers, NC), saw Highlands's soccer squad hold off Blue Ridge Early College by a count of 1-0.

The Highlanders (11-6) will now prepare for their battle against Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Maroon Devils enter the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 10-7 record. In their last battle, Swain County tipped Tri-County (Murphy, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Bobcats battle the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A battle, on Wednesday, October 30. Blue Ridge Early College will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Braves enter the battle with a 0-13 record after their 9-0 league loss to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).
