North Carolina High School Soccer - Sun Valley held off by Piedmont

The Piedmont Panthers edged the host Sun Valley Spartans soccer team by a tally of 4-3 in Tuesday's league game.

Next, the Panthers face the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A game, on Wednesday, October 29. Piedmont will attempt to advance on its 4-13 season record. The Warriors enter the game with a 7-9 record after their 4-4 league Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC).

The Spartans (7-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks go into the Southern Carolina 6A/7A challenge with a 16-3 record. In their last challenge, Marvin Ridge nudged Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC), 3-1, in a league challenge.
