The Alleghany Mountaineers held off the visiting Wilson Memorial Green Hornets volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Monday's non-league test.
The Mountaineers now have a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Glenvar for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 4. Alleghany will confront a Highlanders team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over James River (Buchanan, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 4-3.
The Green Hornets (6-2) will now prepare for their test against Riverheads (Staunton, VA). The Gladiators enter the non-league test with a 3-6 record. In their last test, Riverheads held off Stuarts Draft (Stuarts Draft, VA), 2-0, in a non-league test.
