The Jasper Wildcats soccer team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Evansville Reitz Panthers to 0 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Monday.
Next, the Wildcats face the Castle Knights (Newburgh, IN) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, October 5. Jasper will attempt to better on its 11-5 season record. The Knights enter the contest with a 10-5 record after their 8-0 non-league win over Evansville Central (Evansville, IN).
The Panthers now have a 3-11 record.
Game Summary
* Tight game in the first half. Jasper had a couple of dangerous chances, but came up just short.
* Tempo changed in the second half and Cats were able to create their best looks in the first few minute.
* Boeglin opened the scoring in the 46th minute on a header off the foot of Elizarraras.
* Score remained 1-0 for the next 25 minutes until Pieper broke free on an assist from Elizarraras in the 71st minute.
* Ortiz finished the scoring on a header in the 75th as Elizarraras added his third assist.
* Jasper advances to face Castle on Wednesday.
