In Monday's league battle, the visiting Shelby Golden Lions soccer squad scored a close 5-0 win over the Highland Tech Rams.

The Golden Lions (9-2) will now prepare for their bout against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC). The Warriors enter the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A bout with a 4-9 record. In their last bout, East Gaston was overwhelmed by Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC), 6-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Rams confront the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A bout, on Wednesday, October 5. Highland Tech will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Ironmen enter the bout with a 5-7 record after their 4-0 league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC).
