The Basalt Longhorns softball team scored 22 runs and limited the host Battle Mountain Huskies to 9 in the Longhorns non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Basalt moves its record to 10-5 on the year. The Longhorns travel to Eagle Valley (Gypsum, CO) to clash with the Devils in a non-league game on Tuesday, October 4. The Devils come into the game with a record of 10-8. Eagle Valley lost 10-9 in their recent league game against Rifle (Rifle, CO)

In their next game, the Huskies clash with the Gunnison Cowboys (Gunnison, CO) in a non-league game, on Friday, October 7. Battle Mountain will attempt to move on its 2-8 season record. The Cowboys come into the game with a 9-11 record after their 21-5 league win over Cedaredge (Cedaredge, CO).
