The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) and the visiting Tarboro Vikings (Tarboro, NC), saw Gates County's volleyball squad nip Tarboro by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Gates County upgrades its record to 1-6 on the year. The Red Barons host Perquimans (Hertford, NC) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 10. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 13-1.

The Vikings now own a 0-7 record. They play next when they travel to Perquimans for a non-league bout on Thursday, October 5. Tarboro will play a Pirates squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Ayden - Grifton (Ayden, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 13-1.
