Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the host Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC), 5-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars confront the Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC) in a Coastal 3A challenge, on Thursday, October 5. Croatan will attempt to better on its 7-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 4-1 league loss to White Oak (Jacksonville, NC).

The Bulldogs now have a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Swansboro for a Coastal 3A challenge on Thursday, October 5. Dixon will confront a Pirates team coming off a 1-0 league win over West Carteret (Morehead City, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 9-5.
