In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Knott County Central Patriots volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs.

The Patriots (20-6) will now prepare for their battle against Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY). The Cougars / Lady Cougars come into the District 53 battle with a 11-13 record. In their last battle, Letcher County Central lost by Shelby Valley (Pikeville, KY), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs clash with the June Buchanan Crusaders (Pippa Passes, KY) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, October 4. Hazard will attempt to advance on its 15-9 season record. The Crusaders come into the battle with a 5-14 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Buckhorn (Buckhorn, KY).
