The Cavaliers (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Nottoway (Nottoway, VA). The Cougars enter the non-league challenge with a 6-6 record. In their last challenge, Nottoway defeated Cumberland (Cumberland, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils encounter the West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) in a Tidewater challenge, on Thursday, October 5. Mathews will attempt to move on its 5-8 season record. The Pointers enter the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 3-1 league win over King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA).
