The Comets go into the contest with a 17-1 record after their 3-0 league win over Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary (Montebello, CA).

With the loss, St. Monica moves to 13-10 on the year. The Mariners travel to Hamilton (Los Angeles, CA) to battle the Yankees in a non-league contest on Wednesday, October 4. The Yankees go into the contest with a record of 8-8. Hamilton lost 3-0 in their recent league contest against Palisades (Pacific Palisades, CA)
