In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Seventy-First Falcons volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Purnell Swett Rams.

The Falcons (4-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Pirates come into the non-league challenge with a 7-8 record. In their last challenge, Lumberton edged Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Rams meet the Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC) in a challenge, on Tuesday, October 8. Purnell Swett will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Lumberton (Lumberton, NC).
