Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Gadsden Panthers (Anthony, NM) and the host Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM), saw Gadsden's soccer squad knock off Mayfield by a count of 2-0.

The Panthers (11-3) will now prepare for their battle against Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Tigers enter the 5A District 3 battle with a 5-7 record. In their last battle, Alamogordo by Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Trojans confront the Organ Mountain Knights (Las Cruces, NM) in a 5A District 3 battle, on Tuesday, October 8. Mayfield will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Knights enter the battle with a 9-5 record after their 2-0 league win over Centennial (Las Cruces, NM).
