The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Ridgeland Panthers (Rossville, GA) and the host Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA), observed Ridgeland's softball team prevail over Gilmer by a margin of 14-6.

The Panthers now sport a 11-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Calhoun for a 3A Region 7 outing on Monday, October 7. Ridgeland will encounter a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 18-5 league loss to Heritage (Ringgold, GA). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 8-10.

With the loss, Gilmer moves to 5-24 on the season.
