Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Walnut Mustangs (Walnut, CA) and the visiting Ayala Bulldogs (Chino Hills, CA), observed Walnut's volleyball team top Ayala by a tally of 3-1.

The Mustangs (13-11) will now prepare for their contest against Bonita (La Verne, CA). The Bearcats enter the Palomares contest with a 5-16 record. In their last contest, Bonita beat Claremont (Claremont, CA), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Diamond Bar Brahmas (Diamond Bar, CA) in a Palomares contest, on Tuesday, October 8. Ayala will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The Brahmas enter the contest with a 15-10 record after their 3-0 league loss to Glendora (Glendora, CA).
