The Marion Patriots volleyball squad (Marion, AR), was edged 3-2 in Thursday's league battle with the host Batesville Pioneers (Batesville, AR)

With the win, Batesville improves its record to 7-6 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Mountain Home (Mountain Home, AR) to encounter the Bombers in a 5A East battle on Tuesday, October 8. The Bombers go into the battle with a record of 10-5. Mountain Home won 3-2 in their recent league battle against West Memphis (West Memphis, AR)

The Patriots now own a 18-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brookland for a non-league battle on Monday, October 7. Marion will encounter a Bearcats squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Pocahontas (Pocahontas, AR). The Bearcats record now stands at 23-3.
