Fans at Thursday's league contest between the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) and the host North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC), observed East Wilkes's volleyball team top North Stokes by a count of 3-1.

The Cardinals (5-14) will now prepare for their contest against Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Falcons enter the non-league contest with a 13-5 record.

Next, the Vikings meet the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) in a Northwest 1A contest, on Monday, October 7. North Stokes will attempt to move on its 4-15 season record.
