In Thursday's league challenge, the host Johnstown Sir Bills volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks.

The Sir Bills (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Berne-Knox-Westerlo (Berne, NY). The Bulldogs come into the Section 2 Western - Northern challenge with a 3-7 record.

In their next game, the Valley Hawks encounter the Hadley Luzerne Eagles (Lake Luzerne, NY) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, October 5. Fonda-Fultonville will attempt to improve on its 10-3 season record. The Eagles go into the battle with a 1-10 record after their 3-1 league loss to Argyle (Argyle, NY).
