Pana Panthers (Pana, IL) supporters were in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the visiting Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), 2-1 in a non-league contest.

The Panthers (17-4) will now prepare for their contest against Greenville (Greenville, IL). The Comets enter the South Central contest with a 6-14 record.

Next, the Miners battle the Calhoun Warriors (Hardin, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 5. Gillespie will attempt to move on its 5-12 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 19-2 record after their 2-0 league win over North Greene (White Hall, IL).
