In Thursday's league challenge, the host San Gabriel Academy Eagles volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Newport Christian Seahawks.

The Eagles (10-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Liberty Christian (Huntington Beach, CA). The Minutemen enter the non-league challenge with a 2-6 record. In their last challenge, Liberty Christian was tipped by New Roads (Santa Monica, CA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Seahawks meet the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies (Downey, CA) in a challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Newport Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
