In Thursday's league challenge, the host St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Pierz Pioneers.

The Crusaders (10-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Albany (Albany, MN). The Huskies come into the Granite Ridge challenge with a 23-2 record. In their last challenge, Albany beat Holdingford (Holdingford, MN), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pioneers play the Melrose Dutchmen (Melrose, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 5. Pierz will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Dutchmen go into the battle with a 10-10 record after their 3-0 league loss to Minnewaska Area (Glenwood, MN).
