In Friday's non-league challenge, the host West Mecklenburg Hawks volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Chambers Cougars.
The Hawks (3-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Independence (Charlotte, NC). The Patriots come into the non-league challenge with a 10-4 record. In their last game, Independence gained a win over Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC), 3-0, in a league game.
The Cougars (5-12) will now prepare for their game against West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC). The Lions go into the Meck Power Six 7A/8A game with a 6-9 record. In their last game, West Charlotte went down by Garinger (Charlotte, NC), 3-2, in a non-league outing.
