Fans at Friday's league contest between the Holmdel Hornets (Holmdel, NJ) and the host St. Rose Purple Roses (Belmar, NJ), observed Holmdel's volleyball team top St. Rose by a tally of 2-0.

The Hornets (13-1) will now prepare for their battle against Raritan (Hazlet, NJ). The Rockets go into the non-league battle with a 3-2 record.

The Purple Roses now own a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Manasquan for a non-league battle on Monday, October 6. St. Rose will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Wall Township (Wall, NJ). The Warriors record now stands at 1-2.
