Illinois High School Volleyball - Wilmington tips Peotone

In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Wilmington Wildcats volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Peotone Blue Devils.

Match Summary

Peotone won a close one over Herscher to face the Lady Cats in the finals on Thursday night. Wilmington prevailed in 3: 17-25, 25-13, 25-19. A major part of keeping control of the games was middle blocker Maggie Lindsey. She led her team with 10 kills and 4 blocks. Van Duyne, Molly Southall had another great game with 24 assists, 9 kills, 3 blocks and led the team with 25 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Makenzie Rodriguez stepped up in that department leading the team with 6 blocks to go with her 3 kills. Rachel Smith also put up 4 blocks to go with her 7 kills and 14 digs. Skylar Knight had another great game defensively with 21 digs and an ace.
