With the win, Laney advances its record to 13-0 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to play the Wildcats in a Mideastern 3A/4A outing on Thursday, October 6. The Wildcats go into the outing with a record of 8-3. New Hanover lost 5-1 in their recent league outing against Hoggard (Wilmington, NC)

In their next game, the Pirates play the West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A outing, on Thursday, October 6. Topsail will attempt to advance on its 9-2 season record. The Trojans go into the outing with a 2-11 record after their 2-0 league loss to South Brunswick (Southport, NC).
