The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX) and the host River Road Wildcats (Amarillo, TX), saw Friona's volleyball squad nip River Road by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Friona upgrades its record to 16-11 on the year. The Chieftans host Highland Park (Amarillo, TX) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Saturday, October 8. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 26-7. Highland Park won 3-0 in their recent league bout against West Texas (Stinnett, TX)

The Wildcats now own a 7-12 record. They play next when they travel to Bushland for a 3A Region I District 1 bout on Saturday, October 8.
