Pius X Thunderbolts (Lincoln, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Thunderbolts now own a 23-11 record.

With the loss, Kearney falls to 13-20 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Burke (Omaha, NE) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, October 4. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 6-23. Burke lost 5-1 in their recent league challenge against Westview (Omaha, NE)
