In Friday's non-league outing, the visiting Penobscot Valley Howlers soccer squad scored a tight 2-0 victory over the Mattanawcook Lynx.

The Howlers (6-2) will now prepare for their outing against Orono (Orono, ME). The Riots go into the non-league outing with a 3-3 record. In their last outing, Orono got by Bangor Christian (Bangor, ME), 4-2, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Lynx confront the Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) in a Class C - North outing, on Tuesday, October 8. Mattanawcook will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Raiders go into the outing with a 0-9 record after their 8-0 league loss to Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME).
