The Highland Hornets soccer squad scored 2 points and held the host Valencia Jaguars to 1 in the Hornets league victory on Friday.
The Hornets now hold a 7-6 record. They play next when they host St. Pius X for a 4A District 5 bout on Tuesday, October 8. Highland will play a Sartans squad coming off a 4-0 league win over Valencia (Los Lunas, NM). The Sartans record now stands at 10-3.
With the loss, Valencia moves to 4-8 on the year. The Jaguars host Chaparral (Chaparral, NM) to play the Lobos in a non-league bout on Saturday, October 5. The Lobos go into the bout with a record of 7-5. Chaparral lost 7-0 in their recent non-league bout against Lovington (Lovington, NM)
