The Monroe City Panthers softball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Canton Tigers to 4 in the Panthers non-league win on Saturday.

The Panthers now sport a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Silex for a non-league challenge on Monday, October 6. Monroe City will meet a Owls squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to North Callaway (Kingdom City, MO). The Owls record now stands at 8-6.

The Tigers (11-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Putnam County (Unionville, MO). The Midgets go into the non-league battle with a 6-9 record. In their last battle, Putnam County was routed by South Harrison (Bethany, MO), 5-3, in a non-league battle.
