In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Doniphan West Mustangs volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones.

The Mustangs (15-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Topeka (Topeka, KS). The Trojans come into the non-league challenge with a 7-10 record. In their last challenge, Topeka was nudged by Leavenworth (Leavenworth, KS), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cyclones face the Oskaloosa Bears (Oskaloosa, KS) in a Northeast Kansas League test, on Tuesday, October 7. Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] will attempt to advance on its 6-14 season record. The Bears go into the test with a 4-15 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Leavenworth (Leavenworth, KS).
