The crowd at Tuesday's league test between the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) and the visiting Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC), saw Topsail's soccer squad get by Laney by a margin of 2-1.

The Pirates now sport a 7-2 record. They play next when they host Clinton for a non-league test on Friday, October 8. Topsail will meet a Dark Horses squad coming off a 1-0 league win over East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC). The Dark Horses record now stands at 11-2.

With the loss, Laney drops to 5-4 on the season. The Buccaneers host New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to meet the Wildcats in a Mideastern 3A/4A test on Thursday, October 7. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 12-0. New Hanover won 4-1 in their recent league test against Hoggard (Wilmington, NC)
